Harry the Piano is a musical sensation known to millions through his own show on BBC Radio 2 and as resident pianist for five years on Channel 4’s ‘Big Breakfast’. Since starting to play at the age of four, Harry has set about proving that he can do “absolutely anything on piano.” Quite simply, he does things with the instrument that you’ve never heard before, moving seamlessly between jazz, cabaret & classical in a manner that hasn’t been seen in the UK since the heyday of Dudley Moore. He has also accompanied just about everyone in the business from Engelbert Humperdinck, Julie Andrews, Dame Edna Everage & Charlotte Church to David Bowie & James Belushi as well as opera stars Sir Willard White and Andrea Bocelli. He has appeared on BBC Radio 3 taking requests from a live audience to play any tune in the style of the composer of their choice to rapturous acclaim.
Harry’s extraordinary talent and breath-taking creativity have earned him a reputation as one of the most gifted improvising pianists in the world. No other musician can spontaneously reinvent Michael Jackson in the style of Mozart, recreate a night at the Groucho Club through the TV themes of its actor members and improvise a seamless medley of audience requests ranging from James Bond to Shostakovich via West Side Story.
'Pure unforced brilliance.'
Suzy Klein, BBC Radio 3
'You practise all your life and think you can play the piano. Then you hear Harry.'
